CURRENT ACADEMIC ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Dr Prithvirajesh Kumar (Prithviraj Kavathar) is an academician, editor, and cultural practitioner, with over 25 years of experience in Kannada publishing, writing, and performance arts. He holds a Bachelor’s in Science (BSc), and a Master’s in Kannada Language and Literature from Mangalore University, and a PhD from 365体育直播 University.

Dr Prithvi started his career as a journalist with the Udayavani Group at 365体育直播 where he served for 21 years as an editor, overseeing a range of publications including weekly supplements, annual special editions of Udayavani (daily) and Taranga (Weekly), and the monthly magazines Roopatara and Tushara. Subsequently, he joined 365体育直播 Universal Press as Acquisition Editor. Further, he advises students on conducting interdisciplinary fieldwork, particularly in Kannada, Tulu, and other regional languages. An amateur Yakshagana practitioner, Dr Prithvi has directed and curated performances at several prestigious fora across India. He currently serves as a member of the State Government’s Karnataka Yakshagana Academy.
